Sorting Items
First, since babies grow so quickly, you’ll need to create a system for sorting their clothes. If you plan to hang most of the baby’s clothes, you should purchase hanging dividers or make your own out of heavy duty poster board or cardboard. Label each hanger with the size, and keep all of the 0-3 size clothes together, the 3-6 month size clothes together, etc. If you plan to keep most of the clothing in a dresser, you’ll want to have a similar system for sorting the clothing there.
Storing Items
If you have the space to keep everything hung up, this is a great way to go. Most people, however, don’t have this luxury. Assuming that you don’t have an overflowing amount of space in the closet, you’ll need to pack up all clothes that are too large for the baby. Purchase breathable containers and clearly label each one with the sizes that are inside of it. You’ll want to do this, as well, as the baby outgrows a size. For instance, when the winter ends and your baby moves from being a size 3-6 month to a size 6-9 month, you’ll create a box that says “Winter 3-6 Month” and put all of the appropriate clothing inside either for another child or to loan or give to someone else.
Getting Organized
Purchasing a baby closet organizer, or a number of them, will help you to organize the clothing that you do want to have easily accessible. Closet baskets, for instance, are a fantastic baby closet organizer. You can roll or fold all of the onesies and put them in one closet basket, place pants in another, dresses in a third, and so on. Place a label on the front of each closet basket so that you, and anyone else putting laundry away and dressing the baby, will have easy access to everything you need.
Over-the-Door Storage
One great location for storage that people don’t always think about is the back of the doors. Place decorative coat hooks here that can be used for sweatshirts, coats, hats and any other items that you’ll want to grab quickly on your way out the door. You might want to have a diaper storage unit here as well where you can store extra diapers.

Enjoy the difference in the baby closet with these easy and fast tips. You can create easy access to all of your baby’s clothes, while maintaining an organized and orderly nursery. With the right baby closet organizer, you’ll know where everything is as you dress your baby for success each day!
